World Parkinson's Day and Me - Boxing, ballet, bikes and broadcasts.

11 April. World Parkinson's Day. A day which I wish didn't come to mean so much. It's one day when the world may become a little more aware of what over 150,000 people live with everyday in the UK. I am one them. I still have it. Except for a miracle, or a significant breakthrough in research, I always will. It's getting worse. That's what Parkinson's does. But it's not all grim. A lot of it is. But not all of it. I've met and am meeting some incredibly resilient and encouraging people with Parkinson's. I've got good support around me. Despite the fractures in our NHS, so far I've not gone without support. Although, I do wish I didn't need to have the support of physios, speech therapists, bowel specialists & benefits specialists. I've been forced to reduce my work capacity by fifty percent. Fatigue is extreme. Movement is awkward. I've fallen down stairs, fallen into shop displays, looked like a drunk and forget the names o...

Sean Stillman's MA dissertation, "Zac’s Place: Critically Examining a Fresh Expression of Church for Signs of a Renewal Movement" (Moorlands College / University of Gloucestershire) is now available to download via the Churches Together in England ‘ Mission Research Library ’. You can find the entire library on this link here , and to find Sean's work choose 'topic' and select the 'Fresh Expressions' and scroll down the files available. Alternatively you can go directly to the PDF document here . But we would suggest, if you are engaging in academic research, taking a look through the database of numerous MA and PhD works as there's a wealth of material there. Sean was keen to make his work, which was completed in 2020 with Moorlands College, as accessible as possible, especially for those not familiar with academic papers.
